The fourth in our series of online 'MGHG In Conversation' events considers the hidden stories of museum objects via their journeys from the cut-and-thrust of the antiques trade to the custodianship of the nation’s great collections.

Professor Mark Westgarth (University of Leeds) and Dr Caroline Cornish (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) will be discussing the latest chapter in Mark's Sold! Year of the Dealer project – a series of digital trails highlighting the role of dealers in the biographies of objects at five UK museums. In collaboration with The Bowes Museum, The Lady Lever Art Gallery, Preston Park Museum, Temple Newsam and the V&A, the Year of the Dealer project draws together several years of research, including museum and dealers’ archives, auction catalogue records and oral history interviews, to bring these previously little-known stories to life.
